Now I know more about the Coldstone slipware dish that belonged to my parents Anne and Geoff Whiting, and which I have just unearthed from its cupboard! No doubt my father would have been able to tell me more about it, but on looking it up some years back, I only found outline details. You provide (as usual) so much more. Best wishes, DavidDavid Whitingnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239452518036952208.post-75513934510165750682022-04-27T06:23:56.484+01:002022-04-27T06:23:56.484+01:00Thanks for those recollections, Frances. Thanks for those recollections, Frances.Marshall Colmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239452518036952208.post-70553948438518520732022-04-26T16:32:50.757+01:002022-04-26T16:32:50.757+01:00Thank you - a joy to read as Muriel Tudor-Jones wa...Thank you - a joy to read as Muriel Tudor-Jones was my Aunt. I spent many happy school holidays visiting her and being allowed to throw a pot or two but nothing to her standard! Fond memories of Jomo ....... I remember he was moved from the shop to the pottery as his comments about Mrs Thatcher left a lot to be desired!
Muriel lived in a small cottage at the other end of Campden for many years after she retired.
It is lovely to see that her pottery still gives many a lot of pleasure. Like you, I bought a piece because I could tell it was made by a professional and although I wasn't that fond of it I admired the craftsmanship. I am packing up my house to rent and was just looking at it (plant pot with wheat-sheaf) when I noticed the mark. I have a teapot that I like very much with a mark which I cannot identify, so I was pleasantly surprised and grateful to find your nice article.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07804989258540220816noreply@blogger.com
